No. 001 · 1 MINUTE TIMER

1 minute timer — a 60 second countdown with alarm

  • 01 60 seconds, one click
  • 02 Restart instantly
  • 03 Alarm at zero

A one-minute countdown that starts with a single click or the space bar. Large digits, a progress bar and an alarm at zero make it easy to time short drills, quick speeches and one-minute challenges without looking down at a phone.

What a one-minute timer is good for

One minute is the standard unit for a lot of short, repeated tasks: plank holds and other timed exercises, minute-to-win-it party games, one-minute speaking drills in language and debate practice, and timed rounds in classroom games. A countdown with a clear alarm keeps everyone honest about where the minute ends.

§ 02

Short timers usually run in sets.

Fast to repeat

Short timers usually run in sets. When the countdown ends, the main button changes to Restart, so the next minute is one press away. Space does the same from the keyboard, which helps when your hands are busy.

Visible from a distance

The digits grow with the window. Go fullscreen on a laptop or tablet and a whole room can see the seconds run down, which is useful for group exercises and classroom activities.

Inquiries

Questions worth asking

Q.01 Can I run several one-minute rounds in a row?
Yes. When the alarm sounds, press Restart (or the space bar) to start another 60 seconds immediately.
Q.02 Why does the screen change color?
The timer is a light as well as a clock. It starts as cool 6500K daylight and warms through the color temperatures of a sunset — 4000K, 3000K, 2200K — to an ember red at zero, so you can tell roughly how much time is left from across a room without reading the digits. Turn off Color light for a plain dark timer.
Q.03 Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?
Yes. The countdown is calculated from the clock rather than counted tick by tick, so it finishes on time even when the browser slows down a background tab. The alarm plays when it ends, as long as the tab is still open and the sound toggle is on.
Q.04 Will my screen turn off while the timer runs?
On browsers that support the Screen Wake Lock API (Chrome, Edge and recent Safari), the timer asks the device to keep the screen on while it runs, and releases that request when you pause or the countdown ends.
